URBAN AND RURAL WATER SUPPLY SCHEME

Access to safe and reliable water is a basic human need that remains unmet for hundreds of millions in the PRC: one in two (700 million) are forced to consume water below WHO standards. Furthermore, an imbalance in the quality of water supply is observed. Rural and semi-urban communities are particularly disaffected, bearing disproportionate impact on economic livelihoods and health.

UNDERGROUND SEWAGE PUMPING SCHEME

Underground sewage pumping stations, also known as lift stations, move wastewater from low-lying areas to higher elevations so that gravity can transport it. The stations consist of a large underground tank called a wet well that collects wastewater from buildings and homes.

INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS

Industrial buildings are large commercial properties used for manufacturing, storing, and packing products for shipment. They are different from other commercial buildings, such as office buildings, and are usually located on the outskirts of a city or town.

HIGHRISE BUILDINGS

A high-rise building is a multistory structure that is tall enough to require the use of mechanical vertical transportation, such as elevators. The first high-rise buildings were built in the United States in the 1880s, and are typically between 115–328 ft tall. In the U.S., the National Fire Protection Association defines a high-rise as being higher than 75 ft (23 m), or about seven stories.
